From the period sources
Nicolaus Vetter, born in 1666, was a notable organist and composer, counted among the disciples of Pachelbel, some of whom were his personal pupils (Johann Sebastian Bach: His Work and Influence on the Music of Germany, Vol. 1, 1899). Vetter was still serving as Organist at Rudolstadt in 1730, and was recognized for honoring his teacher’s legacy (Johann Sebastian Bach, Vol. 1, 1899). He was also organist of St. Nikolaus in Leipzig, succeeding Daniel Vetter after his death, and was considered an “able Organist” there (Johann Sebastian Bach, Vol. 2, 1899). His Musicalischer Kirch- und Hauss-Ergotzlichkeit is cited as a source for chorale forms in use among Leipzig congregations (Johann Sebastian Bach, Vol. 1, 1899).
